General Settings
Database Location
- Specifies where your database file (
brainy.db) is stored - Contains all your files, cells, and study data
- Useful for backup or moving your data to a different location
- Changes take effect after restarting the app
- Note: when you log in, a new folder is created with your username — this is where your files will be stored. When signed out, files are stored directly in the root directory without a subfolder
Theme
- Light — Bright interface for daytime use
- Dark — Dark interface for comfortable viewing in low light
- System — Automatically follows your operating system's theme preference
Zoom Level
- Adjust the size of text and UI elements
- Useful if you prefer larger or more compact text
- Changes apply immediately
Sync & Data
Auto-Sync on Startup & Close
- Enabled — Your data automatically syncs when you open and close the app
- Disabled — Manual sync only (use Ctrl + Shift + Y to sync manually)
- Helpful for keeping your data current across devices

Account Management
Sign Out
Log out of your current account while keeping local data intact.
Update Account Information
Change your email address or password associated with your Brainy account.
Delete Account
⚠️ Permanent action — Removes your account and all synced data from the server. Local data remains but sync functionality will be unavailable.
When your account has not been active for 6 months, your account will be automatically deleted.
